In order to become licensed to sell real estate in the state of New Jersey, the candidate must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and complete 75 hours of real estate instruction from a state accredited school. Licensees are required to satisfy one of the following to qualify for license renewal:
1. Completion of 12 hours of continuing education applicable to the license term
2. Completion of one of more broker pre-licensure education courses
3. Salespersons initially licensed in the second year of the NJ real estate license term
Please refer to the New Jersey Real Estate Commission website for any additional information or state requirements.
