Licensing Requirements for Washington, DC
Licensing Requirements
In order to become licensed to sell real estate in Washington, DC, the candidate must be at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and complete 60 hours of real estate instruction from a state accredited school. The Weichert Real Estate School offers the Principles and Practices of Real Estate course to satisfy the 60 hour requirement. After successfully completing the course with a passing grade, candidates must take the DC law exam ($61.50 - national exam applies in certain instances) administered by Pearson VUE. Candidates must apply for their real estate license within 6 months of passing the exam.
Licensees are required to take 15 hours of Continuing Education to renew their licenses.
